The 2022 FAIR Conference (FAIRCON22), the premiere, global, quantitative risk management conference, will be held on September 27 & 28 (Tues. and Wed.) at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. one of the city’s top hotels that is adjacent to both the Mall and the vibrant new Wharf district. The hybrid conference will also be streamed live virtually so that all members can attend.

Hosted by the FAIR Institute and support by our sponsors, the FAIRCON22 brings together thought leaders in cyber and operational risk management to explore best FAIR practices that produce greater value and alignment with business goals. The premiere global risk management conference will provide ground-breaking keynote addresses, engaging C-suite panels, and expert case study sessions.

The theme of this year’s FAIRCON is “Scale”. As an increasing number of organizations have adopted or are looking to adopt FAIR to take their cyber and operational risk management programs to the next level, the community is getting back together to share their experiences and best practices around scaling FAIR.

We are excited to offer FAIRCON22 attendees multiple options to add-on enhanced learning opportunities before the official conference kicks off. Please review the options below noting any pre-session requirements and the timing. Attendees will only be able to participate in one (1) of the sessions below. The courses will be hosted on-site at the Mandarin Oriental leading up to the conference over Sunday and Monday, September 25 & 26, 2022.

The gateway course to knowledge of the Open FAIR™ methodology for risk analysis including basic risk concepts and quantitative risk measurement techniques, led by experienced trainers from the RiskLens Academy and other materials plus case studies to apply your learning. Learners will be prepared for the Open FAIR certification exam and will receive 16 CPEs for completion. The sessions runs from 9 AM - 5 PM on both Sunday and Monday, September 25-26.

A one-day, two-part seminar on making better probability judgements. This training course will be hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Monday, September 26 from 9 AM - 5 PM ET (before the conference officially kicks off). Requirements: Please bring a laptop with you to this course. Part 1: Personal Calibration Exercises In this 3-hour session, you will learn a skill which you be able to use your entire risk management career. Part 2: Advanced Calibration - In this 3-hour session, Doug Hubbard will review methods for further improving estimates of likelihoods and impacts.  Finally, you will learn how you can evaluate the performance of estimators even when it seems like there is little or no data for doing so.

Do you have experience with FAIR but unsure how to best communicate your results? During this engaging Lab session participants will interact with experienced FAIR practitioners in a small group to understand the key metrics and narratives and how to best communicate results to your stakeholders. This workshop will mainly focus on the executive audience, but will also spend time understanding how to approach conversations with other common stakeholders. The workshop will be facilitated by members of the RiskLens Professional Services team, who work day to day with customers to support their reporting needs. This lab session will be hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Monday, September 26 from 1-5 PM ET (before the conference officially kicks off).

Are you struggling to scale and drive efficiency within your FAIR-based quantitative risk management program? This session - led by members of the RiskLens Professional Services team - will help you optimize your program to produce meaningful results in a matter of hours vs. days or weeks. We will spend time in a small group setting identifying and discussing the key bottlenecks in the risk analysis process and will teach you the tips and tricks to avoid analysis paralysis and drive efficiency within your program. Attendees must have completed the FAIR Analysis Fundamentals Training Course prior to attending this lab. This lab session will be hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Monday, September 26 from 1-5 PM ET (before the conference officially kicks off).
