In this video, FAIR Institute Director of Memberships and Programs Luke Bader welcomes to the FAIR Institute board Chon Abraham, Mansfield Professor of Operations and Information Systems Management, at William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business,

Watch the video of Luke’s talk with Prof. Abraham now.

Prof. Abraham comes to us with a distinguished background in academia and public service (Retired Lt Col, USAF Reserve,  Cyber & AI).

Her FAIR journey started by contacting Luke after frustration at not finding “resources or a platform and a community that really embraced cybersecurity risk in a way that was more deliberate.” Particularly, she wanted a way for graduate students to “effectively communicate risk to leadership when they went back into industry.”

“FAIR’s prominence as being the leader in the industry is what attracted me.”

She went on to take the Institute’s FAIR Foundations course. “It was an epiphany that this is what’s missing in our education…and I’d like to use this as a foundation to build into our curriculum.” William & Mary graduate students now learn and use FAIR in intensive one-week “sprints” that emulate business challenges.

“Students that have gone through the sprints report back that [FAIR education] was so beneficial because it gave them a means to have a voice in the room and be looked on as an asset to help the organization understand cyber risk or AI risk more holistically.”
