Bernadette Dunn, New Head of Education for FAIR Institute, Plans Courses More Focused on Needs of Business Executives and Risk Analysts, Plus Continuing Education for FAIR Practitioners

FAIR TrainingIf you received FAIR training in recent years, you probably already know Bernadette (Bernie) Dunn, who led the pioneering RiskLens Academy that trained close to 4,000 in the techniques of quantitative risk analysis with FAIR™ (Factor Analysis of Information Risk). Now, Bernie is moving to the FAIR Institute as Head of Education, and she’s got ambitious plans.

>>The longtime standard FAIR Fundamentals course will remain available while a new FAIR Awareness course is being developed.

“We’re updating the course to access a broader audience,” Bernie said, expanding from the traditional attendees, risk analysts, up to the Board and C-suite with a broader view of risk. FAIR Awareness participants will be able to choose from a menu of modules that address their level in the organization. They will be “rich in testimonials and experiences from our CISOs, CEOs, CIOs, and CROs,” she says.

>>Advanced continuing FAIR education will launch.

“We’ve had a demand for continuing education on FAIR, to build and expand on the FAIR Fundamentals course with more use cases and more advanced classes” so practitioners can keep up their skills after a course ends. Among these offerings will be modules specific to industries and geographies.

>>FAIR-CAM training is in development.

Bernadette Dunn - RiskLens 2-1The community has high interest in getting their hands on the new FAIR-CAM™ (FAIR Controls Analytics Model) developed by FAIR creator Jack Jones that shows huge promise in rationalizing the cybersecurity controls stack, leading to big budget savings. The Institute will debut an introduction-to-FAIR-CAM workshop at the 2023 FAIR Conference

>>Professional certifications from the FAIR Institute

Along with the wider variety of training courses, the Institute will offer a variety of certifications and badges for FAIR community members to validate their achievements in upskilling.

Exciting future … meanwhile the online, hybrid and in-person training goes on in 2023, including Fundamentals Training hosted on-site before the 2023 FAIR Conference, on Sunday and Monday, October 15 and 16. Register now!
