The Solarium Commission made its report last March and many of its recommendations are in various stages of legislation and could roll out in the coming few years. Here’s why private enterprises should care: The Commission is looking to set national cyberspace policy based on public-private cooperation, both voluntary and mandated. The proposals range from greatly increased sharing of threat intelligence by government with business – and tougher cyber risk disclosure rules for the SEC under Sarbanes-Oxley.
But Gallagher and Inglis will deliver a very positive message for FAIR practitioners: You are ahead of the game. The commission’s recommendations all assume a baseline of reliable, consistent, shareable data that’s only achievable through a quantitative model.
