New Membership Tier and Resources to Support a Growing Institute Community

FAIRCON22 AudienceAt the FAIR Institute, our goal is to continue working on advancing the risk profession and providing our members with the proper resources to advance their knowledge and risk practices. We have been receiving an increasing number of requests for more industry studies, how-to-guides, benchmark data, trainings, certifications, mappings to standards and frameworks, advocacy and policy work.

In order to support this, we need your help as the current financing structure that relies on sponsors alone is insufficient. We are therefore transitioning to a tiered membership structure where all resources will no longer be available to all for free as in our early years.

A free membership will still exist but the number of resources that they will be able to access will be limited. Instead, for a small yearly fee of $150, a new membership tier, called Contributing Members, will allow them to access all resources – unrestricted – and get many more benefits, including discounts at FAIR Institute events.

Starting now, we will also be launching a new resource library platform linked to the website that will no longer rely on “FAIR Institute LINK.” LINK will be retired on October 31, 2022. We are also launching a series of Slack channels that will replace previous discussion forums and will be accessible for Contributing Members only.

See the graphic below for a more detailed look at the benefits gained by becoming a Contributing Member.

FAIR Institute Membership Features 2

It is well established now that risk quantification, and especially cyber risk quantification (CRQ), is now considered as a must-do as part of modern and effective risk management practices. More organizations than ever are seeking to improve their risk management practices and in the face of massive technology and digital transformation are seeking to make better balance their growth with security considerations and make risk-informed decisions.

The FAIR Institute has always been a member-driven organization, relying on the energy and passion of Institute members for the success of our local chapters, the FAIR Conferences and our online efforts. With this new direction, we hope to deepen that relationship.
