FAIR Inst Board - Nick Sanna and Alex Antukh-1

I’m delighted to announce the appointment to the FAIR Institute Board of Alexander Antukh, Chief Information Security Officer at AboitizPower, a leading energy provider in the Phillippines.

Nick Sanna (at left in the image with Alex) is Founder of the FAIR Institute

Alex Antukh brings both hands-on experience as leader of the FAIR program at AboitizPower and deep knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape in the Asia Pacific region, one of the fastest-moving frontiers for cyber risk management.

Alex’s cyber risk experience literally spans the globe: Based in Manila now, he has been CISO at Glovo (another FAIR user) in Barcelona and an Executive Director, Technology Risk Adviser, for Goldman Sachs in Warsaw. He speaks four languages fluently.

Alexander Antukh 2At AboitzPower, Alex leads a 65-person security organization spanning IT, OT, and GRC. Under his leadership, the company implemented a FAIR-based cyber risk quantification program that demonstrated a 370% ROI and achieved compliance with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and NERC CIP.

Alex is an articulate advocate for FAIR – take a look at his recent post for our blog: Redefining the Effective CISO: From Gut Feel to Defensible Risk Decisions or watch his Meet a Member interview with FAIR Institute Director of Membership and Programs, Luke Bader.

FAIR “brings a tectonic shift in mindset,” he told Luke. “constantly challenging our assumptions when coming up with estimates and acknowledging inherent uncertainty and interconnectedness of parts of the cyber ecosystem…In a way, we become pioneers in improving the organizational risk measurement and enable a more rational and data-driven approach company-wide.”

Alex deeply engages in the professional community, including OWASP, Women4Cyber, and the Digital Directors Network.

“I hope to bring together my advocacy for FAIR, experience with risk governance across industries, and history of program-building to help the FAIR Institute expand its role as the leading center of knowledge-sharing and standards-setting  in cyber risk,” he said.
