Todd Tucker, Longtime Leader of Technology Business Management Council, Joins FAIR Inst as Managing Director

Todd Tucker FAIR Institute Managing Director - Horizontal - Featured

The FAIR Institute is very pleased to announce that Todd Tucker has joined us as Managing Director. Todd comes to us from an extensive career that spans financial and IT auditing, infosec consulting, technology business management, and thought leadership programs. Most notably, Todd helped launch and run the non-profit Technology Business Management (TBM) Council.

Much like the FAIR Institute, the TBM Council promotes a discipline, Technology Business Management, that improves business outcomes by giving organizations a consistent way to translate technology investment to business value. For FAIR, that value is analyzing and managing cybersecurity and operational risk from the business perspective. A friend of the FAIR Institute for many years, Todd spoke about the intersection of TBM and FAIR at a previous FAIR Conference, highlighting how both models help executives manage the value and risk of technology investments.

Like the FAIR Institute, the TBM Council boasts a large, highly enthusiastic membership, dedicated to advancing a trusted standard, as well as an active network of partners from leading technology companies. Todd directed the organization’s standards committee, its many working groups, and other collaborative programs.  Under Todd’s leadership, the TBMC grew from zero to more than 12,000 members.

Todd Tucker - FAIR Inst Managing Director - Portrait-1“I am super-excited to be back running a research-driven not-for-profit organization with a passionate board of directors, thousands of members around the globe, and influential partners delivering proven solutions and advice for FAIR adoption,” Todd said.

“For those that know me from my days running the TBM Council, you likely know my passion in driving engagement, thought-leadership, standards and education. I'll be doing the same thing at the FAIR Institute.

“In this new position, I can again leverage my background across financial management, technology process improvement, cybersecurity and IT.”

Nick Sanna, Founder of the FAIR Institute, said “we could not be happier to have Todd on our team. He’s a longtime friend of the FAIR Institute, and his experience at the TBM Council is right on target for our mission. Todd’s expertise and shared vision for the FAIR Institute will consolidate and further develop its position as the world’s premier forum for helping organizations cost-effectively manage cyber, AI and operational risk and turn risk professionals into highly trusted business partners.”

As Managing Director, Todd will focus on:

  • Strengthening the research agenda by expanding the  frontiers of risk management into emerging risks such as AI, OT, operational resiliency, and more.
  • Expanding education offerings, including a revamped certification program and new courses for executives, corporate board members and risk practitioners; and
  • Creating powerful new networking and career development opportunities for risk leaders.

Paramount on Todd’s immediate agenda: executing the future-shaping 2024 FAIR Conference, October 1-2 in Washington, DC, convening the industry’s thought leaders and top practitioners of cyber and AI risk management. The theme is “Managing Risk at the Speed of Business,” and it features 70+ CISO, CRO, CIO and CEO speakers, including John Chambers (Cisco Chairman Emeritus), Matt Rowe (CSO, Lloyds Bank), Mary Elizabeth Faulkner, CRISC, CDPSE (CISO, Thrivent Financial), Kevin McCarty (CISO, Cigna), Cris Ross (CIO, Mayo Clinic), Devon Bryan (Global CIO, Carnival Cruise Lines) and dozens more.
