Prestigious Award Recognizes Efforts to Fundamentally Change Security Industry's View of Risk
Reston, VA – March 7, 2019 – The FAIR Institute, an expert, nonprofit organization led by information risk officers, CISOs and business executives to develop standard information, cyber security and operational risk management practices, has been honored by SC Media as one of the “Most Important Industry Organizations of the Last 30 Years” in the prestigious SC Media 30thAnniversary Awards.
As part of SC Media’s year-long celebration for their 30th anniversary in the cybersecurity industry, they expanded their annual SC Awards to include several special categories honoring those who have shaped the industry. Winners were decided by SC Media’s editorial team with the assistance of the SC Awards co-chairs.

Institute members are practitioners of Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR), the revolutionary method for translating cybersecurity risk into the financial terms commonly used in business. A recent Wall Street Journal WSJ Pro Cybersecurity Newsletter noted that FAIR is "gaining traction" among sophisticated risk management operations at major companies.
